Judy Boyt
Judy Boyt is one of the most successful
sculptors the UK have produced in recent
years, her strong powerful work comes from her
superior observational drawings which she
successfully transfers into her sculptures.
Judy is a sculptor and designer with a passion
for the natural world, her subjects are
predominantly animals and more recently
she has expanded on her subject matter to include the
human form. Inspired by the grace and
character of her subjects Judy transfers the
attitude of her subjects into her sculptures.
In her more personal works, there is a
recognisable element of ancient mythology,
conjuring up a feeling of mystery, power and
strength.
Her work over the years has moved into a more
abstracted form that still contains a
recognisable figurative element. She is
continually exploring new contemporary
materials, ways of working with metal
and 'intermediate' methods of construction.
With her eye for design, she develops her work
with the surroundings in mind so that its
final placement on site will be enhanced,
strengthened and framed.
Judy’s work is equally suited for the
landscape, cityscape or interiors and she has
worked with architects, developers and Town
Councils on many major projects.
Her largest bronze sculpture, 'Rebellion',
commissioned by Standard Life, is now sited in
the City of London and was awarded the RBS
medal for Sculpture. Other notable sculptures
include 'Evocation of Speed' for Epsom and
Ewell Borough Council, 'Up to the Line' for RedRow Developments, Centrica
Business Park in Windsor and 'Golden Miller'
at Cheltenham Racecourse.
Judy is looking to secure commissions both in
the public and private sectors and she also
has a number of smaller exclusive limited
edition work for sale, which can be found on
