Caroline Wallace
Caroline has been drawing since she was old
enough to hold a pencil. Much of her life has
been spent surrounded by horses and indeed she
lives and works in Gloucestershire, close to
the home of the British National Hunt Racing,
Cheltenham. In 1980 when she broke her leg
she felt that a career change was necessary
and began to sculpt the horses she had been
surround by all of her life.
Inspired by the grace and power of her equine
subjects, she has successfully transferred her
talents as a painter
to the 3D form of Sculpture and has expanded
her subject matter to include most animals
including fish, dogs and birdlife.
Her bronze equine work includes commissions
such as 'Lord Gyllene' the 150th Grand
National winner, 'Double Trigger' the great
staying champion who is now a very successful
sire and most notably 'Special Cargo' at
Sandown Racecourse in honour of HRH the Queen
Mother.
Work in progress includes the 2005 Grand
National Winner 'Hedgehunter', 2006 Cheltenham
and Aintree winner Blackjack Ketchum.
Caroline
is also about to start a portrait of the new
world 3 day event champions; Zara
Philips and her 3 day eventer 'Toytown'.
Caroline is looking to secure equine portrait
commissions and site specific work.
There are also a number of her highly
collectable editions for sale on this site and
in November 2006 she will have an exclusive
new sculpture available of the Princess Royal
on Parade mounted on her favourite horse.
This sculpture which will stand at 26" high by
26" long and will be run in a limited edition
of 6. Due to a number of the edition
